Thanks for checking out my work! My name is Kimberly, and I’m in my fourth year at the University of Washington, majoring in Human Centered Design and Engineering (HCDE). I was a UX intern at Splunk this past summer, and will be joining Splunk as a UX designer after graduation.
As a UX designer, finding a balance between a product's technical and aesthetic components is important to me. I've been involved in different areas of UX design through coursework and previous internships, including graphic design, web programming, wireframing, prototyping, user research and usability testing. I strive to be a flexible, well-rounded designer, and hope to do that by getting involved in multidisciplinary design and research projects.
At UW, I'm heavily involved with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) as the current VP of Professional Development. My role revolves around fostering and maintaining corporate relationships, acquiring sponsorships, providing opportunities for companies to recruit top talent, as well as students to further their professional careers with workshops and employment opportunities. I also serve as a course assistant for the Intro to Human Centered Design and Engineering (HCDE 210) class. My non-academic campus involvement falls mainly on the Husky Triathlon Club.
When I'm not working, I listen to podcasts, cook, play piano, watch political drama TV shows, do crosswords, and hike.
